Must Have Mom Hacks For The Holidays

These must have mom hacks for the holidays are here to make the holidays more fun and less stressful!

The holidays are upon us! Even though the holidays are one of the happiest times of the year, they can bring quite a bit of stress to us busy moms! Here are a few of my best tips and tricks to have a stress-free holiday season so you can enjoy this special time with friends and family. These tips will help you be prepared and ready to have a happy, fun, and worry-free holiday season!

Tip One: Start Early

The earlier you start in your holiday prep the longer runway you’re going to give yourself. For everything from decorating to present shopping, starting a little earlier can save you the rush of the holiday season and give you more time to prepare everything.

Tip Two: Set Clear Expectations

There is a lot going on during the holiday season, so having clear expectations and getting everybody on the same page is going to make the holidays so much more fun and less stressful. Discuss and figure out if you will be sending out holiday cards, setting up Christmas lights, and everything else! Even though these things seem small, they will create better expectations for everybody involved. From your spouse to your kids, and even your extended family, being on the same page will help everyone really enjoy the holiday.

Tip Three: Delegate

The holidays can be overwhelming with so much going on, so delegation becomes essential for a stress-free season. Get creative with the areas that you can delegate out. For example, for Thanksgiving, ask people to come and bring one dish. This makes it a lot easier for you and gets everyone involved. Or delegate your gift wrapping or gift shopping for Christmas. The more you can delegate, the easier and more fun it’s going to be for you.

Tip Four: Limit Stressful Interactions

An important part of having a happier holiday season is figuring out what makes you feel stressed and limiting those situations. As simple as that! Whether it’s the things that we’re doing or the people we’re interacting with, it’s going to make your life a lot easier and less stressful if you are able to figure out what those limitations are. Have you ever seen the movie Bad Moms Christmas Edition, and they’re trying to make this perfect holiday season, with decorations and holiday baking, and it ended up badly? Sometimes when we try and make everything so perfect, we end up setting ourselves up for failure. So it’s important to identify and follow these limitations.

Tip Five: Holiday Activities

A great way to relieve stress and have fun during the holidays is to try some easy holiday activities! One of my favorite activities to do with the kids is Christmas baking! My secret is those ‘Break and Bake’ cookies that you buy in the grocery store. You just take them out of the fridge, roll them with some flour, get your cookie cutters, and pop them in the oven! The kids have so much fun, and it’s so easy for you!
