We’re Having a Baby!

Screen Shot 2017-03-13 at 12.01.07 PMWe are beyond blessed to share we are going to be a family of three this August! This has been the toughest secret to keep but we’ve enjoyed having this special time to ourselves and our families. We are most grateful to have a healthy, thriving baby and can’t wait to meet him or her. I’m excited to announce I’ll be sharing my journey as a first time Mama here on my blog and on all of my social media channels so be sure to follow along! I hope you’ll enjoy being a part of this adventure with us. We’re having the time of our lives!

A little update so far on how my pregnancy has been. My first trimester I have to say, was quite uneventful. I was super tired my first trimester. I almost got to a point where I was thinking what was wrong with me because I felt like naps were a daily ritual I was getting into! I had a few days (about 4) where I was nauseous and a little dizzy but honestly that was really the extent of any “morning sickness”. I noticed I’d get more bloated and nauseous actually at night rather than in the mornings. As far as cravings go, (if you know me at all you know I have a sweet tooth) but I’ve noticed now that I am craving more salty foods. HELLO PICKLES and SOUP!! I had one day where I had the strangest craving for french fries (I don’t ever go near these) so I decided to give into the craving and eat some…well the whole small fry! BAD IDEA!! I got SO sick after and then realized my body was totally rejecting this food in my body (go figure, did I mention- I NEVER eat this kind of food).

As far as second semester goes, (I am 16 weeks today and have been in my second trimester for a couple weeks now) it pretty much has been too easy to the point where I still question if I’m REALLY pregnant!! The only pain I have, and this is a BIG one, is sciatica pain. I’ve been seeing a chiropractor and I believe that the baby (as small as baby G is) is sitting on my sciatica nerve. I’ve had this pain for about 3 weeks now and it comes and goes. Some days it is more painful than others but it has been on-going since about week 12 or 13. Unfortunately, with how crazy of a workout nut I am the doctor did put me on bed rest for about a week. He said “NO WORKING OUT!”. I was about to die!! Haha, I even just tried longer walks with Rocky but that was super painful at times! As of today, the pain does seem to be getting better and I got back into REALLY working out again on Friday (once I was cleared by the chiro).

If any of you momma’s out there have experienced sciatica pain this early into the pregnancy I’d love to hear from you about what you did to help the pain. I still take it easy with workouts (less heavy weight lifting, more cardio/ light weights) and I take hot baths/ showers and follow with icing my back. This has seemed to help a bit.

Right now, I am most looking forward to finding out what our little miracle will be!! BOY OR GIRL!!! Any guesses?? I keep going back and forth- so I have no idea at this point! I will keep you all updated once we find out!

If you have any questions for me about the pregnancy, what products I am using, what workouts I’m doing, what I’m eating, etc. I’d love to chat! Follow me on FB and IG for all my baby posts and daily routines.

Here are some more photos below of our little pregnancy shoot we did to announce Baby G! Enjoy and thank you for coming on this journey with us!
